Second Coming Foretold

²⁰ Now He was questioned by the Pharisees ^(A)as to when the kingdom of God was coming, and He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God is not coming with ^[a](B)signs that can be observed; ²¹ nor will ^(C)they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ For behold, the kingdom of God is ^[b]in your midst.”

The Conflict of Serving Two Masters

¹⁴ For we know that the Law is ^(A)spiritual, but I am ^(B)fleshly, ^(C)sold ^[a](D)into bondage to sin. ¹⁵ For ^(E)I do not understand what I am doing; for I am not practicing ^(F)what I want to do, but I do the very thing I hate. ¹⁶ However, if I do the very thing I do not want to do, I agree with ^(G)the Law, that the Law is good. ¹⁷ But now, ^(H)no longer am I the one doing it, but sin that dwells in me. ¹⁸ For I know that good does not dwell in me, that is, in my ^(I)flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not. ¹⁹ For ^(J)the good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want.

¹² So, as those who have been ^(A)chosen of God, holy and beloved, ^(B)put on a ^(C)heart of compassion, kindness, ^(D)humility, gentleness, and ^[a](E)patience; ^13 (F)bearing with one another, and ^(G)forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; ^(H)just as the Lord forgave you, so must you do also. ¹⁴ In addition to all these things put on love, which is ^[b](I)the perfect bond of ^(J)unity. ¹⁵ Let ^(K)the peace of Christ, to which you were ^[c]indeed called in ^(L)one body, ^[d]rule in your hearts; and ^[e]be thankful.
