Jesus is True Wisdom

Whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favor of the Lord.
Proverbs 8:35 (KJV)

God’s Word is divine revelation. By it he instructs, guides, and defines principles for governing our lives. Through obedience to it, blessings abound. God’s ways are good and right. His Word is a sure foundation and contains the wisdom necessary to navigate life successfully.

Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things. . . .Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength. By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth (Prov. 8:6, 14-16).

Our redeemer, Jesus Christ, is the Word and wisdom of God made flesh (John 1:14; Col. 2:3). He is the wisdom that calls out to all humankind (Prov. 8:4; John 3:17). He opens his lips to speak what is right (Prov. 8:6).

. . . who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth
(1 Pet. 2:22, NKJV).

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. In Him we find “all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Col. 2:3, ESV).

As you read the Scriptures today, recognize Jesus as wisdom personified in the pages of Proverbs. In wisdom Christ’s character is revealed and His nature meticulously described.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created. . . . And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together (Col. 1:15–17, ESV).

When you seek wisdom, you seek Jesus.
