Luke’s account of the Ascension is a brief but fitting conclusion to his Gospel, which is an account of “all that Jesus began to do and teach, until the day when he was taken up” (Acts 1:1, 2). Luke provides a more detailed ascension account at the beginning of his second book (Acts 1:9–11).
