Job 24:23–24

24:23, 24 These verses must be connected with v. 1 in order to understand the point of the chapter. Job is trying to show that, though the wicked are punished, it takes place little by little (vv. 23, 24), while what the righteous want to see is justice meted out completely. Job’s thought anticipates the “day of the Lord” doctrine of the prophets, which looks for the final judgment day.
