13:15 Though he slay me, I will hope in him. This verse has often been quoted as the supreme expression of trust in the Lord. Job is confident that he will have an audience with God and that this will bring about his deliverance—“the godless shall not come before him.” Moreover, v. 18 makes it clear that Job is positive about his being vindicated when he comes before the Lord. The words “in the right” imply that Job will be shown to be right in his claim that he is innocent of the false charges the counselors have been making against him.
