35:2 Mount Seir. Edom was located along the margin of arable land southeast of the Dead Sea; Seir was the chief mountain range in the country. Mount Seir was used as a synonym for Edom (v. 15; Gen. 32:3; 36:8, 9; Deut. 2:8; Judg. 5:4; 2 Chr. 25:14).
