Ezek 23:31–34

23:31–34 The cup is a common metaphor in the Bible. In many cases it is symbolic of God’s blessings (Ps. 16:5; 23:5; 116:13; 1 Cor. 10:16). It can also represent the anger of God (Ps. 75:7, 8; Is. 51:17–20; Jer. 25:15–29; 49:12; 51:7; Lam. 4:21; Hab. 2:16; Zech. 12:2; Rev. 14:9–11). This cup of wrath is mentioned by Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane (Matt. 26:39, 42) and appears in John’s account of Jesus’ death (John 18:11; 19:28–30).
