6:16 those who are with us. Elisha is referring to God’s heavenly host or army (cf. Josh. 5:13–15; 2 Chr. 32:7, 8; Dan. 10:20; 12:1). In fighting wars for God, the Israelites believed that they were not fighting alone, but with the power of God (Ex. 15:1–12; Deut. 20:1–4; 2 Sam. 22:7–16, 31–51). See also Matt. 26:53.
