14:25 Lebo-hamath. This area was the northernmost part of Israel (Num. 13:21; 34:7–9; 1 Kin. 8:65 note).

Sea of the Arabah. That is, the Dead Sea (Josh. 3:16; 12:3). Jeroboam expanded Israel’s territory to the south on the eastern side of the Jordan, the lands of Ammon and Moab. Jeroboam II controlled more land than any previous northern king (cf. Amos 6:14).
