ZIMRAN zĭm’ răn (זִמְרָנ׃֙, meaning uncertain, possibly derived from zimrâ “song,” “fame”—a man celebrated in song, or zemer, “mountain goat”). A son of Abraham and the concubine Keturah (Gen 25:2; 1 Chron 1:32). The locality Zabram, W of Mecca, mentioned by Ptolemy the geographer, is a related word and may derive from the same source.
