HEBER he’ bər (חֶ֖בֶר, associate). 1. Son of Beriah; an Asherite (Gen 46:17; Num 26:45; 1 Chron 7:31f.). The tribal Heberites is found in Numbers 26:45.

2. A Kenite, husband of Jael, who killed Sisera, the captain of Jabin’s army (Judg 4:17; 5:24). He separated himself for a time from the main body of Kenites and settled near Kedesh, W of the Sea of Galilee (Judg 4:11).

3. Head of a clan of Judah; son of Mered; father, or founder, of Soco (1 Chron 4:18).
