ADDAR ăd’ är (אַדָּ֥ר, glorious, illustrious, maybe threshing floor). 1. A fortified city on the S border of Judah near Kadesh-barnea. Spelled ADAR in KJV of Joshua 15:3. Hezron and Addar called Hazar-addar in Numbers 34:4. Perhaps Khirbet el-qudeirat five m. NW of Kadesh-barnea.
2. A son of Bela and grandson of Benjamin (1 Chron 8:3), called Ard (Gen 46:21; Num 26:40). Listed as a descendant of Benjamin and head of a family.
