Exodus 35

V 1–3: SABBATH Again Moses reminds the children of Israel that the fourth commandment is to be included in their civil life and that they must observe it in practice. V 4–9: SPECIFIC Moses reminds the children of Israel of God’s specific request for a freewill offering for the materials that will be used to build the tabernacle and its furniture and to conduct the worship. V 10–19: SKILLS Skilled and gifted artisans are told to present themselves to manufacture the tabernacle and its furnishings and the holy garments of the priests. V 20–29: SUPPORT The support of the people, in terms of giving and working, shows that God has stirred their hearts, and that they are only too ready to make the freewill offerings. Willingness is translated into service as God’s commands are enthusiastically followed. V 30–35: SPIRIT God’s Spirit is filling Bezalel in all his design work and creative activity to produce a beautiful temple for God with the precious materials provided. The same Spirit gives him the ability to teach others on his team who also work for God.
