Exodus 29

V 1–41: CONSECRATION In the consecration of the priests, the importance of sacrifice, cleansing, direct approach to God, shed blood, anointing oil, and daily observance are all underlined. V 42–43: CONTINUATION The burnt offerings are to be continual and point to the continual efficacy of Christ’s work on the cross, and our need to trust and worship Him continually. V 44–46: CONFIDENCE God’s consecration of Aaron and his sons as priests underlines the confidence that the children of Israel can have in knowing that God dwells among them and that He is their Lord and God who brought them out of Egypt. He emphasises again that He wishes to dwell among them and that He is ‘the Lord their God’.
