1 Kings 7

V 1–12: BUILDINGS INCLUDED Other buildings undertaken by Solomon are the House of the Forest of Lebanon, the Hall of Pillars, the Hall of Judgement, a lavish open court containing other buildings, and his own house of complicated structure, great size, and ornate decoration with costly stones. V 13–47: BRONZE INVOLVED Solomon uses a craftsman, Huram from Tyre. He is immensely wise, understanding, and skilful, to do all the bronze work for the temple. This includes the bronze pillars, the Sea supported by twelve oxen, the ten carts, the ten lavers, the pots, the shovels, and the bowls. There is so much bronze that it cannot be weighed or measured. V 48–50: BIGGEST IMPACT The furnishings which make the biggest impact are manufactured from gold. Each item has tremendous significance. Among the most important are the altar, the table carrying the showbread, the ten lamp stands of the inner sanctuary, the censers, and the hinges for the doors both of the temple and of the Most Holy Place. V 51: BROUGHT IN The silver and gold items, and the furnishings dedicated by his father, David, are placed in the treasuries of the temple, in addition to the articles commissioned by Solomon.
