It is to the arrogant attitude of partisanship that Paul next turns. He proposes partnership as the solution to the Corinthians' problem. Paul offers them an alternative way to understand themselves and their leaders—as servants of God. Cooperation is to replace competition. Suffering servanthood, not success, is to be their aim.
