Salmon, Salma, Salmah [Săl'mŏn,Săl'mă]—peaceable. The father of Boaz, Ruth’s husband, and a man of Judah. Also an ancestor of Christ (Ruth 4:20, 21; 1 Chron. 2:11; Matt. 1:4, 5; Luke 3:32). Salmon is also the name of a mountain (Ps. 68:14).
