Ophir [Ō'phûr]—fat or rich. A son of Joktan, a descendant of Shem (Gen. 10:29; 1 Chron. 1:23). Also the name of a place in South Arabia famous for gold and other products (1 Kings 9:28; Ps. 45:9).
