Jerahmeel [Jēräh'meel]—god hath compassion or is merciful.

1. A son of Hezron, grandson of Judah, who had two wives and a numerous progeny (1 Sam. 27:10; 1 Chron. 2:9, 42).
2. A son of Kish the Merarite (not Saul’s father) (1 Chron. 24:29).
3. An officer of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, who was sent to arrest Jeremiah and Baruch (Jer. 36:26).
