Achaicus [Ăchā'icŭs]—belonging to achaia. As slaves were often named from the country of their birth, it seems probable that this member of the Church at Corinth was a slave born in Achaia (1 Cor. 16:17). Along with Stephanas and Fortunatus this Corinthian visited Paul at Philippi and refreshed his spirit.
