Legacy Standard Bible (LSB)
Version
Psalm 146:5-10

How (A)blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
Whose (B)hope is in Yahweh his God,
Who (C)made heaven and earth,
The (D)sea and all that is in them;
Who (E)keeps truth forever;
Who (F)does justice for the oppressed;
Who (G)gives food to the hungry.
Yahweh (H)sets the prisoners free.

Yahweh (I)opens the eyes of the blind;
Yahweh (J)raises up those who are bowed down;
Yahweh (K)loves the righteous;
Yahweh (L)keeps the sojourners;
He [a](M)helps up the orphan and the widow,
But He bends (N)the way of the wicked.
10 Yahweh will (O)reign forever,
Your God, O Zion, [b]from generation to generation.
[c]Praise Yah!

Ruth 1:6-18

Ruth Is Determined to Go with Naomi

Then she arose with her daughters-in-law and returned from the fields of Moab, for she had heard in the fields of Moab that [a]Yahweh had (A)visited His people to (B)give them [b]food. So she went forth from the place where she was, and her two daughters-in-law with her; and they went on the way to return to the land of Judah. And Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, “Go, return each of you to her mother’s house. (C)May Yahweh [c]show lovingkindness with you as you have [d]shown with the dead and with me. May Yahweh grant that you may find rest, each in the house of her husband.” Then she kissed them, and they lifted up their voices and wept. 10 And they said to her, “No, but we will return with you to your people.” 11 But Naomi said, “Return, my daughters. Why should you go with me? Have I yet sons in my womb, that (D)they may be your husbands? 12 Return, my daughters! Go, for I am too old to have a husband. If I said I have hope, if I should even have a husband tonight and also bear sons, 13 would you therefore wait until they were grown? Would you therefore refrain from marrying? No, my daughters; for it is more bitter for me than for you, for (E)the hand of Yahweh has gone forth against me.” 14 And they lifted up their voices and wept again; and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth clung to her.

15 Then she said, “Behold, your sister-in-law has returned to her people and her (F)gods; return after your sister-in-law.” 16 But Ruth said, “Do not press me to forsake you in turning back from following you; for where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God. 17 Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. Thus may (G)Yahweh do to me, and more, if anything but death separates you and me.” 18 So (H)she saw that she was determined to go with her, and she [e]said no more to her.

2 Peter 3:1-10

The Day of the Lord Will Come

This is now, (A)beloved, the second letter I am writing to you in which I am (B)stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder, that you should (C)remember the words spoken beforehand by (D)the holy prophets and (E)the commandment of the Lord and Savior spoken by your apostles, (F)knowing this first of all, that (G)in the last days (H)mockers will come with their mocking, (I)following after their own lusts, and saying, “(J)Where is the promise of His (K)coming? For since the fathers (L)fell asleep, all continues just as it was (M)from the beginning of creation.” For [a]when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that (N)by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was (O)formed out of water and by water, through which (P)the world at that time was (Q)destroyed, being deluged with water. But by His word (R)the present heavens and earth are being reserved for (S)fire, being kept for (T)the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

But do not let this one fact escape your notice, (U)beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and (V)a thousand years like one day. (W)The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some consider slowness, but (X)is patient toward you, (Y)not willing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. 10 But (Z)the day of the Lord (AA)will come like a thief, in which (AB)the heavens (AC)will pass away with a roar and the (AD)elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and (AE)the earth and [b]its works will be [c]found out.
