Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
A psalm of praise.
117 Oh praise Jehovah, all ye nations;
Laud him, all ye peoples.
2 For his lovingkindness is great toward us;
And the truth of Jehovah endureth for ever.
[a]Praise ye Jehovah.
18 Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will [a]turn again the captivity of Jacob’s tents, and have compassion on his dwelling-places; and the city shall be builded upon its own [b]hill, and the palace shall [c]be inhabited after its own manner. 19 And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small. 20 Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me; and I will punish all that oppress them. 21 And their prince shall be of themselves, and their ruler shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who is he that [d]hath had boldness to approach unto me? saith Jehovah. 22 And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
23 Behold, the tempest of Jehovah, even his wrath, is gone forth, a [e]sweeping tempest: it shall burst upon the head of the wicked. 24 The fierce anger of Jehovah shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall understand it.
8 And I John am he that heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to [a]worship before the feet of the angel that showed me these things. 9 And he saith unto me, See thou do it not: I am a fellow-servant with thee and with thy brethren the prophets, and with them that keep the words of this book: worship God.
10 And he saith unto me, Seal not up the words of the prophecy of this book; for the time is at hand. 11 He that is unrighteous, let him do unrighteousness [b]still: and he that is filthy, let him be made filthy [c]still: and he that is righteous, let him do righteousness [d]still: and he that is holy, let him be made holy [e]still. 12 Behold, I come quickly; and my [f]reward is with me, to render to each man according as his work is. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. 14 Blessed are they that wash their robes, that they may have [g]the right to come to the tree of life, and may enter in by the [h]gates into the city. 15 Without are the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and every one that loveth and [i]maketh a lie.
16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things [j]for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright, the morning star.
17 [k]And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And he that heareth, let him say, Come. And he that is athirst, let him come: he that will, let him take the water of life freely.
18 I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add [l]unto them, God shall add [m]unto him the plagues which are written in this book: 19 and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life, and out of the holy city, [n]which are written in this book.
20 He who testifieth these things saith, Yea: I come quickly. Amen: come, Lord Jesus.
21 The grace of the Lord Jesus [o]be [p]with the saints. Amen.
