Version
Psalm 76

The Majesty of God in Judgment

To the Chief Musician. On [a]stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph. A Song.

76 In (A)Judah God is known;
His name is great in Israel.
In [b]Salem also is His tabernacle,
And His dwelling place in Zion.
There He broke the arrows of the bow,
The shield and sword of battle. Selah

You are more glorious and excellent
(B)Than the mountains of prey.
(C)The stouthearted were plundered;
(D)They [c]have sunk into their sleep;
And none of the mighty men have found the use of their hands.
(E)At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob,
Both the chariot and horse were cast into a dead sleep.

You, Yourself, are to be feared;
And (F)who may stand in Your presence
When once You are angry?
(G)You caused judgment to be heard from heaven;
(H)The earth feared and was still,
When God (I)arose to judgment,
To deliver all the oppressed of the earth. Selah

10 (J)Surely the wrath of man shall praise You;
With the remainder of wrath You shall gird Yourself.

11 (K)Make vows to the Lord your God, and pay them;
(L)Let all who are around Him bring presents to Him who ought to be feared.
12 He shall cut off the spirit of princes;
(M)He is awesome to the kings of the earth.

Isaiah 66:14-24

The Reign and Indignation of God

14 When you see this, your heart shall rejoice,
And (A)your bones shall flourish like grass;
The hand of the Lord shall be known to His servants,
And His indignation to His enemies.
15 (B)For behold, the Lord will come with fire
And with His chariots, like a whirlwind,
To render His anger with fury,
And His rebuke with flames of fire.
16 For by fire and by (C)His sword
The Lord will judge all flesh;
And the slain of the Lord shall be (D)many.

17 “Those(E) who sanctify themselves and purify themselves,
To go to the gardens
[a]After an idol in the midst,
Eating swine’s flesh and the abomination and the mouse,
Shall [b]be consumed together,” says the Lord.

18 “For I know their works and their (F)thoughts. It shall be that I will (G)gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and see My glory. 19 (H)I will set a sign among them; and those among them who escape I will send to the nations: to Tarshish and [c]Pul and Lud, who draw the bow, and Tubal and Javan, to the coastlands afar off who have not heard My fame nor seen My glory. (I)And they shall declare My glory among the Gentiles. 20 Then they shall (J)bring all your brethren (K)for an offering to the Lord out of all nations, on horses and in chariots and in litters, on mules and on camels, to My holy mountain Jerusalem,” says the Lord, “as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the Lord. 21 And I will also take some of them for (L)priests and Levites,” says the Lord.

22 “For as (M)the new heavens and the new earth
Which I will make shall remain before Me,” says the Lord,
“So shall your descendants and your name remain.
23 And (N)it shall come to pass
That from one New Moon to another,
And from one Sabbath to another,
(O)All flesh shall come to worship before Me,” says the Lord.

24 “And they shall go forth and look
Upon the corpses of the men
Who have transgressed against Me.
For their (P)worm does not die,
And their fire is not quenched.
They shall be an abhorrence to all flesh.”

Matthew 23:37-24:14

Jesus Laments over Jerusalem(A)

37 (B)“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets (C)and stones those who are sent to her! How often (D)I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks (E)under her wings, but you were not willing! 38 See! Your house is left to you desolate; 39 for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, (F)‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’

Jesus Predicts the Destruction of the Temple(G)

24 Then (H)Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, (I)not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”

The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age(J)

Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, (K)the disciples came to Him privately, saying, (L)“Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

And Jesus answered and said to them: (M)“Take heed that no one deceives you. For (N)many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ (O)and will deceive many. And you will hear of (P)wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for [a]all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For (Q)nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be (R)famines, [b]pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

(S)“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then (T)many false prophets will rise up and (U)deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow (V)cold. 13 (W)But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this (X)gospel of the kingdom (Y)will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
