Psalm 76

The Victorious Power of the God of Jacob.

For the music director; on stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph, a Song.

76 God is (A)known in Judah;
His name is (B)great in Israel.
His [a](C)tabernacle is in (D)Salem;
His (E)dwelling place also is in Zion.
There He (F)broke the [b]flaming arrows,
The shield, the sword, and the [c]weapons of war. Selah

You are resplendent,
[d]More majestic than the mountains of prey.
The (G)stouthearted were plundered,
[e]They sank into sleep;
And none of the [f]warriors could use his hands.
At Your (H)rebuke, God of Jacob,
Both [g](I)rider and horse were cast into a dead sleep.
You, You indeed are (J)to be feared,
And (K)who may stand in Your presence, [h]once You are angry?

You caused judgment to be heard from heaven;
The earth (L)feared and was still
When God (M)arose to judgment,
To save all the humble of the earth. Selah
10 For the [i](N)wrath of mankind shall praise You;
You will encircle Yourself with a remnant of wrath.

11 (O)Make vows to the Lord your God and (P)fulfill them;
All who are around Him are to (Q)bring gifts to Him who is to be feared.
12 He will cut off the spirit of princes;
He is [j](R)feared by the kings of the earth.

Isaiah 66:14-24

14 Then you will (A)see this, and your (B)heart will be glad,
And your (C)bones will flourish like the new grass;
And the (D)hand of the Lord will be made known to His servants,
But He will be (E)indignant toward His enemies.
15 For behold, the Lord will come in (F)fire,
And His (G)chariots like the whirlwind,
To render His anger with fury,
And His rebuke with flames of fire.
16 For the Lord will execute judgment by (H)fire
And by His (I)sword on [a]humanity,
And those put to death by the Lord will be many.
17 “Those who sanctify and purify themselves to go to the (J)gardens,
[b]Following one in the center,
Who eat (K)pig’s flesh, detestable things, and mice,
Will (L)come to an end altogether,” declares the Lord.

18 “For I [c]know their works and their (M)thoughts; [d]the time is coming to (N)gather all the nations and tongues. And they shall come and see My glory. 19 And I will put a (O)sign among them and send survivors from them to the nations: (P)Tarshish, [e]Put, (Q)Lud, [f]Meshech, (R)Tubal, and [g]Javan, to the distant (S)coastlands that have neither heard of My fame nor seen My glory. And they will (T)declare My glory among the nations. 20 Then they shall (U)bring all your countrymen from all the nations as a grain offering to the Lord, on horses, in chariots, in litters, on mules, and on camels, to My (V)holy mountain Jerusalem,” says the Lord, “just as the sons of Israel bring their grain offering in a (W)clean vessel to the house of the Lord. 21 I will also take some of them as (X)priests and Levites,” says the Lord.

22 “For just as the (Y)new heavens and the new earth,
Which I make, will endure before Me,” declares the Lord,
“So will your (Z)descendants and your (AA)name endure.
23 And it shall be from (AB)new moon to new moon
And from Sabbath to Sabbath,
All [h]mankind will come to (AC)bow down before Me,” says the Lord.
24 “Then they will go out and look
At the (AD)corpses of the people
Who have (AE)rebelled against Me.
For their (AF)worm will not die
(AG)And their fire will not be extinguished;
And they will be an (AH)abhorrence to all [i]mankind.”

Matthew 23:37-24:14

Grieving over Jerusalem

37 (A)Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who (B)kills the prophets and stones those who have been sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, (C)the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling. 38 Behold, (D)your house is being left to you desolate! 39 For I say to you, from now on you will not see Me until you say, ‘(E)Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Lord!’”

Signs of Christ’s Return

24 (F)Jesus (G)left the temple area and was going on His way [a]when His disciples came up to point out the temple buildings to Him. But He responded and said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, (H)not one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down.”

And as He was sitting on (I)the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of (J)Your coming, and of the [b]end of the age?”

And Jesus answered and said to them, (K)See to it that no one [c]misleads you. For (L)many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the [d]Christ,’ and they will [e]mislead many people. And you will be hearing of (M)wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. For (N)nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be (O)famines and earthquakes in various places. (P)But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pains.

(Q)Then they will hand you over to tribulation and kill you, and (R)you will be hated by all nations because of My name. 10 And at that time many will [f](S)fall away, and they will [g]betray one another and hate one another. 11 And many (T)false prophets will rise up and [h]mislead many people. 12 And because lawlessness is increased, [i]most people’s love will become cold. 13 (U)But the one who endures to the end is the one who will be saved. 14 This (V)gospel of the kingdom (W)shall be preached in the whole [j](X)world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
