Isaiah 12

Yahweh Is My Strength and My Song

12 Then you will say in that day,
(A)I will give thanks to You, O Yahweh;
For (B)although You were angry with me,
Your anger is turned away,
And You comfort me.
Behold, (C)God is my salvation,
I will (D)trust and not dread;
For [a](E)Yah—Yahweh Himself—is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation.”
Therefore you will joyously (F)draw water
From the (G)springs of salvation.
And in that day you will (H)say,
(I)Give thanks to Yahweh, call on His name.
(J)Make known His deeds among the peoples;
[b]Make them remember that His name is exalted.”
(K)Praise Yahweh in song, for He has done [c]majestic things;
Let this be known throughout the earth.
(L)Cry aloud and shout for joy, O inhabitant of Zion,
For (M)great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.

Isaiah 57:14-21

Yahweh Revives the Spirit of the Lowly

14 And it will be said,
(A)Build up, build up, prepare the way,
[a]Remove every stumbling block out of the way of My people.”
15 For thus says the One (B)high and lifted up
Who (C)dwells forever, whose name is Holy,
“I (D)dwell on a high and holy place,
And also with the (E)crushed and lowly of spirit
In order to (F)revive the spirit of the lowly
And to revive the heart of the crushed.
16 For I will (G)not contend forever,
(H)Nor will I always be angry;
For the spirit would grow faint before Me,
And the (I)breath of those whom I have made.
17 Because of the iniquity of his (J)greedy gain I was angry and struck him;
I hid My face and was angry,
And he went on (K)turning away, in the way of his heart.
18 I have seen his ways, but I will (L)heal him;
I will (M)lead him and (N)pay him and his mourners in full with comfort,
19 Creating the [b](O)praise of the lips.
(P)Peace, peace to him who is (Q)far and to him who is near,”
Says Yahweh, “and I will heal him.”
20 But the (R)wicked are like the tossing sea,
For it cannot be quiet,
And its waters toss up refuse and mud.
21 (S)There is no peace,” says (T)my God, “for the wicked.”

Romans 1:18-25

God’s Wrath on Unrighteousness

18 For (A)the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who (B)suppress the truth [a]in unrighteousness, 19 because (C)that which is known about God is evident [b]within them; for God made it evident to them. 20 For (D)since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, both His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, (E)being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. 21 For even though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or give thanks, but they became (F)futile in their thoughts, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 (G)Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and (H)exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the likeness of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.

24 Therefore (I)God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be (J)dishonored among them. 25 For they exchanged the truth of God for [c]a (K)lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, (L)who is blessed [d]forever. Amen.
