⁴ Now the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, ⁵ Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee; I have appointed thee a prophet unto the nations. ⁶ Then said I, Ah, Lord Jehovah! behold, I know not how to speak; for I am a child. ⁷ But Jehovah said unto me, Say not, I am a child; for ^[a]to whomsoever I shall send thee thou shalt go, and whatsoever I shall command thee thou shalt speak. ⁸ Be not afraid because of them; for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith Jehovah. ⁹ Then Jehovah put forth his hand, and touched my mouth; and Jehovah said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth: ¹⁰ see, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down and to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.

Prayer of an old man for deliverance.

¹⁸ For ye are not come unto ^[a]a mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, and unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, ¹⁹ and the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard entreated that no word more should be spoken unto them; ²⁰ for they could not endure that which was enjoined, ^[b]If even a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned; ²¹ and so fearful was the appearance, that Moses said, ^[c]I exceedingly fear and quake: ²² but ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, ^[d]and to ^[e]innumerable hosts of angels, ²³ to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, ²⁴ and to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better ^[f]than that of Abel. ²⁵ See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not when they refused him that warned them on earth, much more shall not we escape who turn away from him ^[g]that warneth from heaven: ²⁶ whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, ^[h]Yet once more will I make to tremble not the earth only, but also the heaven. ²⁷ And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, that those things which are not shaken may remain. ²⁸ Wherefore, receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us have ^[i]grace, whereby we may offer service well-pleasing to God with ^[j]reverence and awe: ²⁹ for our God is a consuming fire.

¹⁰ And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath day. ¹¹ And behold, a woman that had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years; and she was bowed together, and could in no wise lift herself up. ¹² And when Jesus saw her, he called her, and said to her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. ¹³ And he laid his hands upon her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. ¹⁴ And the ruler of the synagogue, being moved with indignation because Jesus had healed on the sabbath, answered and said to the multitude, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the day of the sabbath. ¹⁵ But the Lord answered him, and said, Ye hypocrites, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the ^[a]stall, and lead him away to watering? ¹⁶ And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan had bound, lo, these eighteen years, to have been loosed from this bond on the day of the sabbath? ¹⁷ And as he said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame: and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
