Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
GIMEL.
17 ¶ Deal bountifully with thy slave that I may live and keep thy word.
18 ¶ Open my eyes, and I shall behold the wonders of thy law.
19 ¶ I am a stranger in the earth; hide not thy commandments from me.
20 ¶ My soul is broken from desiring thy judgments at all times.
21 ¶ Thou hast reprehended the proud; cursed are those who err from thy commandments.
22 ¶ Remove from me reproach and contempt, for I have kept thy testimonies.
23 ¶ Princes also sat and spoke against me as thy slave spoke according to thy statutes.
24 ¶ For thy testimonies are my delight and my counsellors.
DALETH.
25 ¶ My soul cleaves unto the dust; quicken me according to thy word.
26 ¶ I have declared my ways, and thou didst hear me; teach me thy statutes.
27 Make me to understand the way of thy precepts; so I shall meditate of thy wondrous works.
28 ¶ My soul melts for heaviness; strengthen me according to thy word.
29 Remove from me the way of lying, and from thy law grant me mercy.
30 ¶ I have chosen the way of truth; I have laid thy judgments before me.
31 I have stuck unto thy testimonies; O LORD, put me not to shame.
32 I will run the way of thy commandments when thou shalt enlarge my heart.
13 In that day the fair virgins and young men shall faint for thirst.
14 Those that swear by the guiltiness of Samaria and say, As thy God of Dan lives; and, As the way of Beersheba lives, even they shall fall, and never rise up again.
9 ¶ I saw the Lord standing upon the altar, and he said, Smite the threshold and shake the doors and cut the head of them all into pieces; and I will slay the last of them with the sword; there shall be none of them left to flee away or to escape.
2 Though they dig unto Sheol, from there shall my hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, from there I will bring them down;
3 and though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out of there; and though they hide from my sight in the bottom of the sea, from there will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them:
4 and though they go into captivity before their enemies, from there I will command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set my eyes upon them for evil, and not for good.
2 ¶ My little children, I write these things unto you, that ye sin not; and if anyone has sinned, we have an Advocate before the Father, Jesus, the righteous Christ;
2 and he is the reconciliation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
3 ¶ And in this we do know that we have known him if we keep his commandments.
4 He that says, I have known him, and does not keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whosoever keeps his word, in him verily is the charity of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6 He that says he abides in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
