Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Gimel.
17 (A)Deal bountifully with Your servant,
That I may live and keep Your word.
18 Open my eyes, that I may behold
Wonderful things from Your law.
19 I am a (B)stranger in the earth;
Do not hide Your commandments from me.
20 My soul is crushed [a](C)with longing
After Your ordinances at all times.
21 You (D)rebuke the arrogant, [b]the (E)cursed,
Who (F)wander from Your commandments.
22 (G)Take away reproach and contempt from me,
For I (H)observe Your testimonies.
23 Even though (I)princes sit and talk against me,
Your servant (J)meditates on Your statutes.
24 Your testimonies also are my (K)delight;
They are [c]my counselors.
Daleth.
25 My (L)soul cleaves to the dust;
(M)Revive me (N)according to Your word.
26 I have told of my ways, and You have answered me;
(O)Teach me Your statutes.
27 Make me understand the way of Your precepts,
So I will (P)meditate on Your wonders.
28 My (Q)soul [d]weeps because of grief;
(R)Strengthen me according to Your word.
29 Remove the false way from me,
And graciously grant me Your law.
30 I have chosen the faithful way;
I have [e]placed Your ordinances before me.
31 I (S)cling to Your testimonies;
O Lord, do not put me to shame!
32 I shall run the way of Your commandments,
For You will (T)enlarge my heart.
Warning Through Visions
7 Thus the Lord [a]God showed me, and behold, He was forming a (A)locust-swarm [b]when the spring crop began to sprout. And behold, the spring crop was after the king’s [c]mowing. 2 And it came about, [d]when it had (B)finished eating the vegetation of the land, that I said,
“(C)Lord God, please pardon!
[e]How can Jacob stand,
For he is (D)small?”
3 The Lord [f](E)changed His mind about this.
“It shall not be,” said the Lord.
4 Thus the Lord God showed me, and behold, the Lord God was calling to contend with them by (F)fire, and it consumed the great deep and began to consume the [g]farm land. 5 Then I said,
27 to whom (A)God willed to make known what is (B)the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is (C)Christ in you, the (D)hope of glory. 28 We proclaim Him, (E)admonishing every man and teaching every man [a]with all (F)wisdom, so that we may (G)present every man [b](H)complete in Christ. 29 For this purpose also I (I)labor, (J)striving (K)according to His [c]power, which [d]mightily works within me.
You Are Built Up in Christ
2 For I want you to know how great a (L)struggle I have on your behalf and for those who are at (M)Laodicea, and for all those who have not [e]personally seen my face, 2 that their (N)hearts may be encouraged, having been (O)knit together in love, and attaining to all (P)the wealth [f]that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a (Q)true knowledge of (R)God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself, 3 in whom are hidden all (S)the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4 (T)I say this so that no one will delude you with (U)persuasive argument. 5 For even though I am (V)absent in body, nevertheless I am with you in spirit, rejoicing [g]to see [h]your (W)good discipline and the (X)stability of your faith in Christ.
6 Therefore as you have received (Y)Christ Jesus the Lord, so [i](Z)walk in Him, 7 having been firmly (AA)rooted and now being (AB)built up in Him and (AC)established [j]in your faith, just as you (AD)were instructed, and overflowing [k]with gratitude.
