Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Gimel
17 (A)Deal bountifully with Your slave,
That I may live and keep Your word.
18 Open my eyes, that I may behold
Wonderful things from Your law.
19 I am a (B)sojourner in the earth;
Do not hide Your commandments from me.
20 My soul is crushed [a](C)with longing
For Your judgments at all times.
21 You (D)rebuke the arrogant, [b]the (E)cursed,
Who (F)stray from Your commandments.
22 (G)Take away reproach and contempt from me,
For I (H)observe Your testimonies.
23 Even though (I)princes sit and talk against me,
Your slave (J)muses on Your statutes.
24 Your testimonies also are my (K)delight;
They are [c]my counselors.
Daleth
25 My (L)soul clings to the dust;
(M)Revive me (N)according to Your word.
26 I have recounted my ways, and You have answered me;
(O)Teach me Your statutes.
27 Make me understand the way of Your precepts,
So I will (P)muse on Your wondrous deeds.
28 My (Q)soul [d]weeps because of grief;
(R)Raise me up according to Your word.
29 Remove the false way from me,
And graciously grant me Your law.
30 I have chosen the faithful way;
I have [e]placed Your judgments before me.
31 I (S)cling to Your testimonies;
O Yahweh, do not put me to shame!
32 I shall run the way of Your commandments,
For You will (T)enlarge my heart.
Yahweh Will Rise Up Against Israel
7 Thus Lord Yahweh showed me, and behold, He was forming a (A)locust-swarm [a]when the spring crop began to come up. And behold, the spring crop was after the king’s [b]mowing. 2 And it happened [c]when it had (B)completed eating the vegetation of the land, that I said,
“(C)Lord Yahweh, please pardon!
[d]How can Jacob rise up,
For he is (D)small?”
3 Yahweh [e](E)relented concerning this.
“It shall not be,” said Yahweh.
4 Thus Lord Yahweh showed me, and behold, Lord Yahweh was calling to contend with them by (F)fire, and it consumed the great deep and began to consume the [f]farm land. 5 Then I said,
27 to whom (A)God willed to make known what is (B)the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is (C)Christ in you, the (D)hope of glory. 28 Him we proclaim, (E)admonishing every man and teaching every man [a]with all (F)wisdom, so that we may (G)present every man [b](H)complete in Christ. 29 For this purpose I also (I)labor, (J)striving (K)according to His working, which He works in me in power.
Alive with Christ
2 For I want you to understand how great a (L)struggle I have on your behalf and for those who are at (M)Laodicea, and for all those who have not seen my face in the flesh, 2 so that their (N)hearts may be encouraged, having been (O)held together in love, even unto all (P)the wealth of the full assurance of understanding, unto the (Q)full knowledge of (R)God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself, 3 in whom are hidden all (S)the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4 (T)I say this so that no one will delude you with (U)persuasive argument. 5 For even though I am (V)absent in body, nevertheless I am with you in spirit, rejoicing [c]to see your (W)good order and the (X)stability of your faith in Christ.
6 Therefore as you received (Y)Christ Jesus the Lord, so [d](Z)walk in Him, 7 having been firmly (AA)rooted and being (AB)built up in Him, and having been (AC)established [e]in your faith—just as you (AD)were instructed—and abounding [f]with thanksgiving.
