8 ¶ Doth not wisdom cry, and give her voice to intelligence?

² She stands in the top of high places, by the way at the crossroads of the paths.

³ She cries at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.

⁴ Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of men.

²² ¶ The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

²³ I was set up with eternal dominion, from the beginning, before the earth was.

²⁴ I was begotten before the depths, before the existence of the fountains of many waters.

²⁵ Before the mountains were founded, before the hills was I begotten.

²⁶ While as yet he had not made the earth nor the fields nor the beginning of the dust of the world,

²⁷ when he composed the heavens, I was there. When he set a compass upon the face of the depth,

²⁸ when he established the clouds above, when he strengthened the fountains of the deep,

²⁹ when he gave to the sea his decree that the waters should not pass his commandment, when he appointed the foundations of the earth,

³⁰ I was with him ordering everything; I was his delight every day, being content before him at all times;

³¹ I am content in the circumference of his earth, and my contentment is with the sons of men.

To the Overcomer upon Gittith, A Psalm of David.

¹ ¶ O LORD our Lord, how great is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy praise above the heavens.

² Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou might still the enemy and the avenger.

³ ¶ When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

⁴ what is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou dost visit him?

⁵ For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels and hast crowned him with glory and beauty.

⁶ Thou hast made him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

⁷ all sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;

⁸ The birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, and whatever passes through the paths of the seas.

⁹ O LORD our Lord, how great is thy name in all the earth!

5 ¶ Justified therefore by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus, the Christ,

² by whom we also have access by faith into this grace in which we stand and glory in hope of the glory of the sons of God.

³ And not only this, but we even glory in the tribulations, knowing that the tribulation works patience;

⁴ and patience, experience; and experience, hope;

⁵ and the hope shall not be ashamed, because the love of God is poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us.

¹² I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

¹³ Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth, for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak, and he will cause you to know the things which are to come.

¹⁴ He shall clarify me, for he shall take of that which is mine and shall cause you to know it.

¹⁵ All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he shall take of that which is mine and shall cause you to know it.
