Serve Yahweh with Gladness

A Psalm of ^[a]Thanksgiving.

¹⁷ “Israel is a ^(A)scattered ^[a]flock; the ^(B)lions have banished them away. The first one who devoured him was the ^(C)king of Assyria, and this last one who has broken his bones is ^(D)Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. ¹⁸ Therefore thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel: ‘Behold, I am going to punish the king of Babylon and his land, just as I ^(E)punished the king of Assyria. ¹⁹ And I will ^[b](F)return Israel back to his pasture, and he will graze on Carmel and Bashan, and his ^[c]desire will be satisfied in the ^(G)hill country of Ephraim and Gilead. ²⁰ In those days and at that time,’ declares Yahweh, ‘search will be made for the iniquity of Israel, but ^(H)there will be none; and for the sins of Judah, but they will not be found; for I will pardon those ^(I)whom I leave as a remnant.’

³¹ The Jews ^(A)picked up stones again to stone Him. ³² Jesus answered them, “I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?” ³³ The Jews answered Him, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for ^(B)blasphemy; and because You, being a man, ^(C)make Yourself God.” ³⁴ Jesus answered them, “Has it not been written in ^(D)your ^(E)Law, ‘^(F)I said, you are gods’? ³⁵ If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), ³⁶ do you say of Him, whom the Father ^(G)sanctified and ^(H)sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘^(I)I am the Son of God’? ^37 (J)If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; ³⁸ but if I do them, though you do not believe Me, believe ^(K)the works, so that you may know and continue knowing that ^(L)the Father is in Me, and I in the Father.” ³⁹ Therefore ^(M)they were seeking again to seize Him, and ^(N)He eluded their grasp.

⁴⁰ And He went away ^(O)again beyond the Jordan to the place where John was first baptizing, and He was staying there. ⁴¹ And many came to Him and were saying, “While John did no ^(P)sign, yet ^(Q)everything John said about this man was true.” ^42 (R)And many believed in Him there.
