Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Serve Yahweh with Gladness
A Psalm of [a]Thanksgiving.
Israel Will No Longer Be Divided
15 The word of Yahweh came again to me saying, 16 “Now as for you, son of man, take for yourself (A)one stick and write on it, ‘For (B)Judah and for the sons of Israel, his companions’; then take another stick and write on it, ‘For (C)Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and all the house of Israel, his companions.’ 17 Then (D)draw them together for yourself one to another into one stick, that they may become one in your hand. 18 And when the sons of your people speak to you saying, ‘Will you not declare to us (E)what you mean by these?’ 19 say to them, ‘Thus says Lord Yahweh, “Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions; and I will put them with it, with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they will be one in My hand.”’ 20 And the sticks on which you write will be in your hand before their eyes. 21 And speak to them, ‘Thus says Lord Yahweh, “Behold, I will (F)take the sons of Israel from among the nations where they have gone, and I will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; 22 and I will make them (G)one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and (H)one king will be king for all of them; and they will no longer be two nations and no longer be divided into two kingdoms. 23 They also will (I)no longer defile themselves with their idols or with their detestable things or with any of their transgressions; but (J)I will save them from all their [a]places of habitation in which they have sinned, and I will cleanse them. And they will be My people, and I will be their God.
Yahweh Cuts a Covenant
24 “And My servant (K)David will be king over them, and they will all have (L)one shepherd; and they will walk in My judgments and keep My statutes and do them. 25 They will inhabit the land that I gave to Jacob My servant, which your fathers inhabited; and they will inhabit it, they, and their sons and their sons’ sons, forever; and (M)David My servant will be their prince forever. 26 And I will cut a (N)covenant of peace with them; it will be an (O)everlasting covenant with them. And I will give them the land and (P)multiply them and will set My (Q)sanctuary in their midst forever. 27 My [b](R)dwelling place also will be with them; and (S)I will be their God, and they will be My people. 28 And the nations will know that I am Yahweh (T)who sanctifies Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forever.”’”
Seven Angels, Seven Plagues
15 Then I saw (A)another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, (B)seven angels who have (C)seven plagues, which are (D)the last, because in them the wrath of God is finished.
2 Then I saw something like a (E)sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who have (F)overcome [a]the (G)beast and (H)his image and the (I)number of his name, standing on the (J)sea of glass, having (K)harps of God. 3 And they *sang the (L)song of Moses, (M)the slave of God, and the (N)song of the Lamb, saying,
“(O)Great and marvelous are Your works,
(P)O [b]Lord God, the Almighty;
Righteous and true are Your ways,
(Q)King of the [c]nations!
4 (R)Who will not fear, O [d]Lord, and glorify Your name?
For You alone are holy;
For (S)all the nations will come and worship before You,
For Your [e](T)righteous acts have been revealed.”
