Psalm 122

Go to the House of Yahweh

A Song of Ascents. Of David.

122 I was glad when they said to me,
“Let us (A)go to the house of Yahweh.”
Our feet are standing
Within your (B)gates, O Jerusalem,
Jerusalem, which is (C)built
As a city (D)joined altogether;
To which the tribes, the tribes of Yah, (E)go up—
A testimony for Israel—
To give thanks to the name of Yahweh.
For there, (F)thrones sit for judgment,
The thrones of the house of David.

Pray for the (G)peace of Jerusalem:
“May they prosper who (H)love you.
May peace be within your (I)walls,
And tranquility within your (J)palaces.”
For the sake of my (K)brothers and my friends,
I will now say, “(L)May peace be within you.”
For the sake of the house of Yahweh our God,
I will (M)seek your good.

Esther 7

Esther’s Petition to the King

Then the king and Haman came to drink wine with Esther the queen. And the king said to Esther on the second day also [a]as they drank their wine at the feast, “(A)What is [b]your petition, Queen Esther? It shall be given you. And what is [c]your request? (B)Even to half of the kingdom it shall be done.” Then Queen Esther answered and said, “(C)If I have found favor in your eyes, O king, and if it seems good to the king, let my life be given to me as [d]my petition, and my people as [e]my request; for (D)we have been sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, (E)to be killed, and to be caused to perish. Now if we had only been sold as slaves, men and women, I would have remained silent, for the [f]adversity would not be worth the [g]annoyance to the king.” Then King Ahasuerus said—he said to Esther the Queen, “Who is this one, and where is this one, who fills his heart to do thus?” So Esther said, “(F)An adversary and an enemy is this evil Haman!” Then Haman became terrified before the king and queen.

Haman Is Hanged

And the king arose (G)in his wrath from [h]drinking wine and went into (H)the garden of his palace; but Haman stayed to seek for his life from Queen Esther, for he saw that calamity had been determined against him by the king. Now the king returned from the garden of his palace into the [i]place where they were drinking wine. And Haman was falling on (I)the couch where Esther was. So the king said, “Will he even assault the queen with me in the house?” As the word went out of the king’s mouth, they covered Haman’s face. Then Harbonah, one of the eunuchs who were before the king, said, “Behold indeed, (J)the gallows—which Haman made for Mordecai (K)who spoke good on behalf of the king—are standing at Haman’s house fifty cubits high!” And the king said, “Hang him on it.” 10 (L)So they hanged Haman on the [j]gallows which he had set up for Mordecai, (M)and the king’s wrath subsided.

Revelation 1:9-20

The Vision of the Son of Man

(A)I, John, your (B)brother and (C)fellow partaker in the tribulation and (D)kingdom and [a](E)perseverance which are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos (F)because of the word of God and the witness of Jesus. 10 I was [b](G)in the Spirit on (H)the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice (I)like a trumpet, 11 saying, (J)Write in a scroll what you see, and send it to the (K)seven churches: to (L)Ephesus and to (M)Smyrna and to (N)Pergamum and to (O)Thyatira and to (P)Sardis and to (Q)Philadelphia and to (R)Laodicea.”

12 Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And having turned I saw (S)seven golden lampstands; 13 and (T)in the middle of the lampstands I saw one (U)like [c]a son of man, (V)clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and (W)girded across His chest with a golden sash. 14 And His head and His (X)hair were white like white wool, like snow; and (Y)His eyes were like a flame of fire. 15 His (Z)feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His (AA)voice was like the sound of many waters, 16 and having in His right hand (AB)seven stars, and a (AC)sharp two-edged sword which comes out of His mouth, and His (AD)face was like (AE)the sun [d]shining in its power.

17 And when I saw Him, I (AF)fell at His feet like a dead man. And He (AG)placed His right hand on me, saying, (AH)Do not fear; (AI)I am the first and the last, 18 and the (AJ)living One; and I [e](AK)was dead, and behold, I am alive forever and ever, and I have (AL)the keys of death and of Hades. 19 Therefore (AM)write (AN)the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place (AO)after these things. 20 As for the (AP)mystery of the (AQ)seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the (AR)seven golden lampstands: the (AS)seven stars are the angels of (AT)the seven churches, and the seven (AU)lampstands are the seven churches.
