Deuteronomy 26:1-11

26 ¶ And it shall be when thou art come in unto the land, which the LORD thy God gives thee for an inheritance and possess it and dwell therein,

thou shalt take of the first of all the fruit of the earth, which thou shalt bring of thy land that the LORD thy God gives thee, and shalt put it in a basket and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to cause his name to dwell.

And thou shalt go unto the priest that shall be in those days and say unto him, I declare today unto the LORD thy God that I have entered into the land which the LORD swore unto our fathers to give us.

And the priest shall take the basket out of thine hand and set it down before the altar of the LORD thy God.

Then thou shalt speak and say before the LORD thy God, My father, the Syrian, perishing of hunger went down into Egypt and sojourned there with a few and became there a nation, great, mighty, and many;

and the Egyptians mistreated us and afflicted us and laid upon us hard bondage.

And when we cried unto the LORD God of our fathers, the LORD heard our voice and looked on our affliction and our labour and our oppression.

And the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm and with great terribleness and with signs and with wonders;

and he has brought us into this place and has given us this land, even a land that flows with milk and honey.

10 And now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land which thou, O LORD, hast given me. And thou shalt set it before the LORD thy God and worship before the LORD thy God.

11 And thou shalt rejoice in every good thing which the LORD thy God has given unto thee and unto thine house, thou and the Levite and the stranger that is among you.

Psalm 91:1-2

¶ He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the LORD, He is my hope and my fortress: my God; in him will I secure myself.

Psalm 91:9-16

¶ Because thou hast made the LORD, who is my hope, even the most High, thy habitation,

10 no evil shall befall thee, neither shall any plague come near thy dwelling.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands lest thy foot stumble against a stone.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14 Because he has set his will upon me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high because he has known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and glorify him.

16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my saving health.

Romans 10:8-13

But what does it say? The word is near thee, even in thy mouth and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach,

that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto saving health.

11 For the scripture says, Whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.

12 ¶ For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Luke 4:1-13

¶ And Jesus being full of the Holy Spirit returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness

for forty days and was tempted of the devil. And in those days he ate nothing; and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

Then the devil said unto him, If thou art the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.

And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

And the devil took him up into a high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the sphere of the world in a moment of time.

And the devil said unto him, All this authority I will give thee and the glory of them, for that is delivered unto me, and to whomsoever I will I give it.

If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan; for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

And he brought him to Jerusalem and set him on a pinnacle of the temple and said unto him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down from here;

10 for it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee,

11 and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

13 And having finished all temptation, the devil departed from him for a season.
