Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
I Will Give Thanks to Your Name
Of David.
138 (A)I will give You thanks with all my heart;
I will sing praises to You before the (B)gods.
2 I will worship (C)toward Your holy temple
And (D)give thanks to Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your [a]truth;
For You have (E)magnified Your [b]word [c]according to all Your name.
3 On the day I (F)called, You answered me;
You made me bold with (G)strength in my soul.
4 (H)All the kings of the earth, O Yahweh, will give You thanks,
When they hear the words of Your mouth.
5 And they will (I)sing of the ways of Yahweh,
For (J)great is the glory of Yahweh.
6 For (K)Yahweh is high,
Yet He (L)sees the lowly,
But the (M)one who exalts himself He knows from afar.
7 Though I (N)walk in the midst of [d]distress, You will [e](O)revive me;
You will (P)stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies,
And Your right hand will (Q)save me.
8 Yahweh will (R)accomplish what concerns me;
O Yahweh, Your (S)lovingkindness endures forever;
(T)Do not fail the (U)works of Your hands.
12 (A)Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Go up to this (B)mountain of Abarim, and see the land which I have given to the sons of Israel. 13 So when you have seen it, you too (C)will be gathered to your people, (D)as Aaron your brother [a]was, 14 for in the wilderness of Zin, during the strife of the congregation, (E)you rebelled against My [b]command [c]to treat Me as holy before their eyes at the water.” (These are the waters of Meribah of Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.)
Moses Commissions Joshua
15 Then Moses spoke to Yahweh, saying, 16 “(F)May Yahweh, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation, 17 who (G)will go out [d]and come in before them, and who will lead them out and [e]bring them in, so that the congregation of Yahweh will not be (H)like sheep which have no shepherd.” 18 So Yahweh said to Moses, “[f]Take Joshua the son of Nun, a man (I)in whom is the Spirit, and (J)lay your hand on him; 19 and have him stand before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation, and (K)commission him in their sight. 20 And you shall put some of your [g]splendor on him, in order that all the congregation of the sons of Israel may obey him. 21 Moreover, he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall inquire for him (L)by the judgment of the Urim before Yahweh. At his [h]command they shall go out, and at his [i]command they shall come in, both he and the sons of Israel with him, even all the congregation.” 22 So Moses did just as Yahweh commanded him; and he took Joshua and had him stand before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation. 23 Then he laid his hands on him and (M)commissioned him, just as Yahweh had spoken by the hand of Moses.
26 (A)And when he came to Jerusalem, he was trying to associate with the disciples, [a]but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple. 27 But (B)Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles and recounted to them how he had (C)seen the Lord on the road, and that He had talked to him, and how (D)at Damascus he had (E)spoken out boldly in the name of Jesus. 28 So he was with them, [b]moving about freely in Jerusalem, (F)speaking out boldly in the name of the Lord. 29 And he was talking and arguing with the [c](G)Hellenistic Jews, but they were attempting to put him to death. 30 But when (H)the brothers learned of it, they brought him down to (I)Caesarea and (J)sent him away to (K)Tarsus.
31 So (L)the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria was having peace, being built up. And going on in the fear of the Lord and in the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, it continued to multiply.
