2 Samuel 23:1-7

23 Now these are the last words of David.

David the son of Jesse saith,
And the man who was raised on high saith,
The anointed of the God of Jacob,
And [a]the sweet psalmist of Israel:
The Spirit of Jehovah spake [b]by me,
And his word was upon my tongue.
The God of Israel said,
The Rock of Israel spake to me:
[c]One that ruleth over men [d]righteously,
That ruleth in the fear of God,
He shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth,
A morning without clouds,
When the tender grass springeth out of the earth,
Through clear shining after rain.
[e]Verily my house is not so with God;
Yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant,
Ordered in all things, and sure:
For it is all my salvation, and all my desire,
Although he maketh it not to grow.
But [f]the ungodly shall be all of them as thorns to be thrust away,
Because they cannot be taken with the hand;
But the man that toucheth them
Must be [g]armed with iron and the staff of a spear:
And they shall be utterly burned with fire in their place.

Psalm 132:1-12

Prayer for Jehovah’s blessing upon the sanctuary.

A Song of Ascents.

132 Jehovah, remember for David
All his affliction;
How he sware unto Jehovah,
And vowed unto the Mighty One of Jacob:
Surely I will not come into the [a]tabernacle of my house,
Nor go up into [b]my bed;
I will not give sleep to mine eyes,
Or slumber to mine eyelids;
Until I find out a place for Jehovah,
[c]A tabernacle for the Mighty One of Jacob.
Lo, we heard of it in [d]Ephrathah:
We found it in the field of [e]the wood.
We will go into his tabernacles;
We will worship at his footstool.
Arise, O Jehovah, into thy resting-place;
Thou, and the ark of thy strength.
Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness;
And let thy saints shout for joy.
10 For thy servant David’s sake
Turn not away the face of thine anointed.
11 Jehovah hath sworn unto David in truth;
He will not turn from it:
Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.
12 If thy children will keep my covenant
And my testimony that I shall teach them,
Their children also shall sit upon thy throne for evermore.

Psalm 132:13-18

13 For Jehovah hath chosen Zion;
He hath desired it for his habitation.
14 This is my resting-place for ever:
Here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
15 I will [a]abundantly bless her provision:
I will satisfy her poor with bread.
16 Her priests also will I clothe with salvation;
And her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
17 There will I make [b]the horn of David to bud:
I have [c]ordained a lamp for mine anointed.
18 His enemies will I clothe with shame;
But upon himself shall his crown flourish.

Revelation 1:4-8

John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from him [a]who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits that are before his throne; and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loveth us, and [b]loosed us from our sins [c]by his blood; and he made us to be a kingdom, to be priests unto [d]his God and Father; to him be the glory and the dominion [e]for ever and ever. Amen. Behold, he cometh with the clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they that pierced him; and all the tribes of the earth shall mourn over him. Even so, Amen.

I am the Alpha and the Omega, saith the Lord God, [f]who is and who was and [g]who is to come, the Almighty.

John 18:33-37

33 Pilate therefore entered again into the [a]Praetorium, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews? 34 Jesus answered, Sayest thou this of thyself, or did others tell it thee concerning me? 35 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done? 36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my [b]servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. 37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, [c]Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end have I been born, and to this end am I come into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
