Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Yahweh, Save Me
A Psalm of David. When [a]he fled from Absalom his son.
3 O Yahweh, how (A)my adversaries have become many!
Many are rising up against me.
2 Many are saying [b]of my soul,
“There is no (B)salvation for him in God.” [c]Selah.
3 But You, O Yahweh, are (C)a shield about me,
My (D)glory, and the One who (E)lifts my head.
4 I was calling to Yahweh with my voice,
And He (F)answered me from (G)His holy [d]mountain. Selah.
5 [e]I (H)lay down and slept;
I awoke, for Yahweh sustains me.
6 I will (I)not be afraid of ten thousands of people
Who all around (J)have set themselves against me.
Solomon’s Prayer for Israel
22 Then (A)Solomon stood before the altar of Yahweh before all the assembly of Israel and (B)spread out his hands toward heaven. 23 And he said, “O Yahweh, the God of Israel, (C)there is no god like You in heaven above or upon earth beneath, (D)keeping covenant and lovingkindness to Your slaves who walk before You with all their heart, 24 who have kept with Your [a]servant, my father David, that which You have [b]promised him; indeed, You have [c]promised with Your mouth and have fulfilled it by Your hand as it is this day. 25 So now, O Yahweh, the God of Israel, keep with Your [d]servant David my father that which You have [e]promised him, saying, ‘(E)You shall not have a man cut off from before Me who is to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your sons keep their way to walk as you have walked before Me.’ 26 So now, O God of Israel, let Your word truly [f]endure (F)which You have spoken to Your [g]servant, my father David.
27 “But will God truly dwell on the earth? Behold, (G)heaven and the [h]highest heaven cannot [i]contain You; how much less this house which I have built! 28 Yet have regard to the (H)prayer of Your slave and to his supplication, O Yahweh my God, to listen to the cry and to the prayer which Your slave prays before You today; 29 (I)that Your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, toward (J)the place of which You have said, ‘My name shall be there,’ to listen to the prayer which Your slave shall pray toward this place. 30 (K)And listen to the supplication of Your slave and of Your people Israel, (L)when they pray toward this place; listen in heaven Your dwelling place; listen and (M)forgive.
9 “But see to yourselves; for they will (A)deliver you to the [a]courts, and you will be beaten (B)in the synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for My sake, as a witness to them. 10 (C)And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all the nations. 11 (D)And when they lead you away, delivering you up, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given to you in that hour; for it is not you who speak, but it is the Holy Spirit. 12 And brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and [b]have them put to death. 13 (E)And you will be hated by all because of My name, but the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.
The Abomination of Desolation and the Tribulation
14 “But (F)when you see the (G)abomination of desolation standing where it should not be (let the reader understand), then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. 15 (H)And the one who is on the housetop must not go down, or go in to get anything out of his house; 16 and the one who is in the field must not turn back to get his garment. 17 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 18 But pray that it may not happen in the winter. 19 For those days will be a time of tribulation such as has not occurred (I)since the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will. 20 And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no [c]life would have been saved; but for the sake of the [d]elect, whom He chose, He shortened the days. 21 And then if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, here is the [e]Christ’; or, ‘Behold, He is there’; do not believe him; 22 for false christs and (J)false prophets will arise, and will show [f](K)signs and (L)wonders, in order to lead astray, if possible, the elect. 23 But as for you, see! I have told you everything in advance.
