Morning prayer of trust in God.

A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son.

²² And Solomon stood before the altar of Jehovah in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven; ²³ and he said, O Jehovah, the God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath; who keepest covenant and lovingkindness ^[a]with thy servants, that walk before thee with all their heart; ²⁴ who hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou didst promise him: yea, thou spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thy hand, as it is this day. ²⁵ Now therefore, O Jehovah, the God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, ^[b]There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me as thou hast walked before me. ²⁶ Now therefore, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified, which thou spakest unto thy servant David my father.

²⁷ But will God in very deed dwell on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded! ²⁸ Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O Jehovah my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee this day; ²⁹ that thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place whereof thou hast said, My name shall be there; to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall pray toward this place. ³⁰ And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: yea, hear thou in heaven thy dwelling-place; and when thou hearest, forgive.

⁹ But take ye heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in synagogues shall ye be beaten; and before governors and kings shall ye stand for my sake, for a testimony unto them. ¹⁰ And the ^[a]gospel must first be preached unto all the nations. ¹¹ And when they lead you to judgment, and deliver you up, be not anxious beforehand what ye shall speak: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye; for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit. ¹² And brother shall ^[b]deliver up brother to death, and the father his child; and children shall rise up against parents, and ^[c]cause them to be put to death. ¹³ And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.

¹⁴ But when ye see the abomination of desolation standing where he ought not (let him that readeth understand), then let them that are in Judaea flee unto the mountains: ¹⁵ and let him that is on the housetop not go down, nor enter in, to take anything out of his house: ¹⁶ and let him that is in the field not return back to take his cloak. ¹⁷ But woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days! ¹⁸ And pray ye that it be not in the winter. ¹⁹ For those days shall be tribulation, such as there hath not been the like from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never shall be. ²⁰ And except the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh would have been saved; but for the elect’s sake, whom he chose, he shortened the days. ²¹ And then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is the Christ; or, Lo, there; believe ^[d]it not: ²² for there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall show signs and wonders, that they may lead astray, if possible, the elect. ²³ But take ye heed: behold, I have told you all things beforehand.
