Version
Psalm 45:1-2

Your Throne, O God, Is Forever

For the choir director. According to [a]Shoshannim. Of the sons of Korah. A [b]Maskil. A Song of Love.

45 My heart [c]overflows with a good theme;
I [d]address my [e]verses to the [f]King;
My tongue is the pen of (A)a skillful scribe.
You are fairer than the sons of men;
(B)Grace is poured [g]upon Your lips;
Therefore God has (C)blessed You forever.

Psalm 45:6-9

(A)Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of (B)uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
You have (C)loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
Therefore God, Your God, has (D)anointed You
With the oil of joy above Your companions.
All Your garments are fragrant with (E)myrrh and aloes and cassia;
Out of ivory palaces (F)stringed instruments have made You glad.
Kings’ daughters are among (G)Your noble ladies;
At Your (H)right hand stands the queen in (I)gold from Ophir.

Song of Songs 2:1-7

[a]I am the [b](A)rose of (B)Sharon,
The (C)lily of the valleys.”

[c]Like a lily among the thorns,
So is (D)my darling among the daughters.”

[d]Like an [e](E)apple tree among the trees of the forest,
So is my beloved among the sons.
In his shade I had great desire and sat down,
And his (F)fruit was sweet to my [f]taste.
He has (G)brought me to his [g]house of banqueting,
And his (H)banner over me is love.
Sustain me with (I)raisin cakes,
Refresh me with [h](J)apples,
Because (K)I am lovesick.
Let (L)his left hand be under my head
And (M)his right hand (N)embrace me.”

[i]I (O)call you to solemnly swear, O (P)daughters of Jerusalem,
By the (Q)gazelles or by the (R)hinds of the field,
(S)That you do not arouse or awaken my love
Until [j]she pleases.”

James 1:9-16

(A)But the [a]brother of humble circumstances is to boast in his high position; 10 and the rich man is to boast in his humiliation, because (B)like [b]flowering grass he will pass away. 11 For the sun rises with [c](C)a scorching heat and (D)withers the grass; and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so too the rich man in the midst of his pursuits will fade away.

12 (E)Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has [d]been approved, he will receive (F)the crown of life which the Lord (G)has promised to those who (H)love Him. 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “(I)I am being tempted [e]by God”; for God cannot be tempted [f]by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. 15 Then (J)when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and when (K)sin is fully matured, it brings forth death. 16 (L)Do not be [g]deceived, (M)my beloved brothers.
