Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
20 A prayer of the people unto God, that it would please him to hear their king and receive his sacrifice, which he offered before he went to battle against the Ammonites.
To him that excelleth. A Psalm of David.
1 The [a]Lord hear thee in the day of trouble: the [b]Name of the God of Jacob defend thee:
2 Send thee help from the Sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion.
3 Let him remember all thine offerings, and [c]turn thy burnt offerings into ashes. Selah.
4 And grant thee according to thine heart, and fulfill all thy purpose:
5 That we may rejoice in thy [d]salvation, and set up the banner in the Name of our God, when the Lord shall perform all thy petitions.
6 Now [e]know I that the Lord will help his anointed, and will hear him from his [f]Sanctuary, by the mighty help of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the Name of the Lord our God.
8 [g]They are brought down and fallen, but we are risen, and stand upright.
9 Save Lord: [h]Let the King hear us in the day that we call.
25 2 The voluntary gifts for the making of the Tabernacle. 10 The form of the Ark. 17 The Mercy seat. 23 The Table. 31 The Candlestick. 40 All must be done according to the pattern.
1 Then the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 [a]Speak unto the children of Israel that they receive an offering for me: of (A)every man, whose heart giveth it freely, ye shall take the offering for me.
3 And this is the offering which ye shall [b]take of them, gold and silver, and brass,
4 And [c]blue silk, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen and goat’s hair,
5 And ram’s skins colored red, and the skins of badgers, and the wood [d]Shittim,
6 Oil for the light, spices for [e]anointing oil, and for the perfume of sweet savor.
7 Onyx stones, and stones to be set in the (B)Ephod, and in the (C)breastplate.
8 Also they shall make me a [f]Sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.
9 According to all that I show thee, even so shall ye make the form of the Tabernacle, and the fashion of all the instruments thereof.
10 ¶ They shall make also an (D)Ark of Shittim wood, two cubits and an half long, and a cubit and an half broad, and a cubit and an half high.
11 And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, within and without shalt thou overlay it, and shalt make upon it a [g]crown of gold round about.
12 And thou shalt cast four rings of gold for it, and put them in the four [h]corners thereof: that is, two rings shall be on the one side of it, and two rings on the other side thereof.
13 And thou shalt make bars of Shittim wood, and cover them with gold.
14 Then thou shalt put the bars in the rings by the sides of the Ark, to bear the Ark with them.
15 The bars shall be in the rings of the Ark: they shall not be taken away from it.
16 So thou shalt put in the Ark the [i]Testimony, which I shall give thee.
17 Also thou shalt make a [j][k]Mercy seat of pure gold, two cubits and an half long and a cubit and an half broad.
18 And thou shalt make two Cherubims of gold: of work beaten out with the hammer shalt thou make them at the two ends of the Mercy seat.
19 And the one Cherub shalt thou make at the one end, and the other Cherub at the other end: of the matter of the Mercy seat shall ye make the Cherubims, on the two ends thereof.
20 And the Cherubims shall stretch their wings on high, covering the Mercy seat with their wings and their faces one to another: to the Mercy seatward shall the faces of the Cherubims be.
21 And thou shalt put the Mercy seat above upon the Ark, and in the Ark thou shalt put the Testimony, which I will give thee.
22 And there I will [l]declare myself unto thee, and from above the Mercy seat (E)between the two Cherubims, which are upon the Ark of the Testimony, I will tell thee all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.
2 1 He setteth down a platform of his preaching, 4 which was base in respect of man’s wisdom, 7, 13 but noble in respect of the spiritual power and efficacy. 14 And so concludeth that flesh and blood cannot rightly judge thereof.
1 And [a]I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with (A)excellency of words, or of wisdom, showing unto you the [b]testimony of God.
2 For I [c]esteemed not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
3 (B)And I was among you in [d]weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
4 Neither stood my word, and my preaching in the (C)enticing speech of man’s wisdom, [e]but in plain [f]evidence of the Spirit and of power.
5 [g]That your faith should not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
6 [h]And we speak wisdom among them that are [i]perfect: not the wisdom of this world, neither of the [j]princes of this world, which come to nought.
7 [k]But we speak the wisdom of God in a [l]mystery, even the hid wisdom, [m]which God had determined before the world, unto our glory.
8 [n]Which none of the princes of this world hath known: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the [o]Lord of glory.
9 [p]But as it is written, (D)The things which eye hath not seen, neither ear hath heard, neither came into [q]man’s heart, are, which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 [r]But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the spirit [s]searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
