Psalm 47

In Celebration of God’s Reign

Psalm 47

For the music director, a psalm for the sons of Korah.
Clap your hands, all you peoples!
Shout to God with the voice of joy!
For Adonai Elyon is awesome,
a great King over all the earth.
He subdues peoples under us,
and nations under our feet.
He chooses our inheritance for us,
the glory of Jacob whom He loved. Selah
God is gone up amidst shouting,
Adonai amidst the sound of the shofar.
Sing praises to God, sing praises!
Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
For God is the King of all the earth.
Sing praises with a skillful song.
God reigns over the nations.
God sits upon His holy throne.
10 The princes of the peoples are gathered as a people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of earth belong to God—
He is greatly exalted!

Deuteronomy 34:1-7

34 Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho. Adonai showed him all the land—Gilead to Dan, and all of Naphtali, the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the western sea, the Negev and the plain of the valley of Jericho the city of palm trees, as far as Zoar. Then Adonai said to him, “This is the land that I swore to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob saying, ‘I will give it to your seed.’ I let you see it with your eyes, but you will not cross over there.”

So Moses the servant of Adonai died there in the land of Moab, as was from the mouth of Adonai. Then He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth-peor—but no one knows of his burial place to this day. Moses was 120 years old when he died. His eye was not dim nor his vigor gone.

John 16:4-11

But I have spoken these things to you so that when their hour comes, you may remember that I told you of them. I did not tell you these things from the beginning, because I was with you.”

The Ruach Reveals Truth

“But now I am going to the One who sent Me, and not one of you is asking Me, ‘Where are you going?’ Because I have spoken these things to you, grief has filled your heart. But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away! For if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.

“When He comes, He will convict the world about sin, righteousness, and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 concerning righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see Me; 11 and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.
