Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
A Call to Praise the Lord for His Righteousness.
A Psalm.
98 Sing a (A)new song to the Lord,
For He has done (B)wonderful things,
His (C)right hand and His (D)holy arm have [a]gained the victory for Him.
2 (E)The Lord has made His salvation known;
He has (F)revealed His righteousness in the sight of the nations.
3 He has (G)remembered His graciousness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel;
(H)All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
44 Then Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the hearing of the people, he, with [a](A)Joshua the son of Nun. 45 When Moses had finished speaking all these words to all Israel, 46 he said to them, “(B)Take to your heart all the words with which I am warning you today, which you will command (C)your sons to [b]follow carefully, all the words of this Law. 47 For it is not a [c]trivial matter for you; indeed (D)it is your life. And (E)by this word you will prolong your days in the land, [d]which you are about to cross the Jordan to [e]possess.”
42 Calling them to Himself, Jesus *said to them, “You know that those who are recognized as rulers of the Gentiles domineer over them; and their [a]people in high position exercise authority over them. 43 But it is not this way among you; (A)rather, whoever wants to become [b]prominent among you shall be your servant; 44 and whoever wants to be first among you shall be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man (B)did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His [c]life as a ransom for many.”
