42 耶稣把他们叫过来，对他们说∶“非犹太人让人们称他们为统治者。你们知道，那些统治者热衷于炫耀他们统治人民的权力，他们的首领们还热衷于对人民滥用权力。 43 但是，在你们中间，不该这样。谁想在你们当中出人头地，谁就必须甘做你们的仆人。 44 谁想在你们中间居先，谁就必须做众人的奴仆。 45 人子降世，人子来不是让人伺候他的，他来是为了服侍他人的，而且，为了拯救众人，他还牺牲了自己的生命。”
