The Holy Spirit Poured Out on the Gentiles

34 (A)And opening his mouth, Peter said:

“I most truly comprehend now that (B)God is not one to show partiality, 35 but (C)in every nation the one who [a](D)fears Him and does righteousness is welcome to Him. 36 As for the word which He sent to the sons of Israel, (E)proclaiming the good news of (F)peace through Jesus Christ—He is (G)Lord of all— 37 you yourselves know the thing which happened throughout all Judea, starting from Galilee, after the baptism which John proclaimed. 38 [b]You know of (H)Jesus of Nazareth, how God (I)anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, [c](J)and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for (K)God was with Him. 39 And we are (L)witnesses of all the things He did both in the [d]land of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They also (M)put Him to death by hanging Him on a tree. 40 (N)God raised Him up on the third day and granted that He appear, 41 (O)not to all the people, but to (P)witnesses who were chosen beforehand by God, that is, to us (Q)who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead. 42 And He (R)commanded us to [e]preach to the people, and solemnly to (S)bear witness that this is the One who has been (T)designated by God as (U)Judge of the living and the dead. 43 Of Him (V)all the prophets bear witness that through (W)His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.”

Isaiah 25:6-9

(A)And Yahweh of hosts will prepare a [a]lavish banquet for (B)all peoples on this mountain;
A banquet of [b]aged wine, [c]choice pieces with marrow,
And [d]refined, aged wine.
And on this mountain He will swallow up the [e](C)covering which is over all peoples,
Even the veil which is [f]stretched over all nations.
He will (D)swallow up death for all time,
And Lord Yahweh will (E)wipe tears away from all faces,
And He will remove the (F)reproach of His people from all the earth;
For Yahweh has spoken.
And it will be said in that day,
“Behold, (G)this is our God in whom we have (H)hoped that (I)He would save us.
This is Yahweh in whom we have hoped;
(J)Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation.”

Psalm 118:1-2

Yahweh’s Lovingkindness Endures Forever

118 (A)Give thanks to Yahweh, for (B)He is good;
For His lovingkindness endures forever.
Oh let (C)Israel say,
“His lovingkindness endures forever.”

Psalm 118:14-24

14 (A)Yah is my strength and song,
And He has become (B)my salvation.

15 The sound of (C)joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the righteous;
The (D)right hand of Yahweh does valiantly.
16 The (E)right hand of Yahweh is exalted;
The right hand of Yahweh does valiantly.
17 I (F)will not die; indeed I will live,
And (G)recount the works of Yah.
18 Yah has (H)disciplined me severely,
But He has (I)not given me over to death.

19 (J)Open to me the gates of righteousness;
I shall enter through them, I shall give thanks to Yah.
20 This is the gate of Yahweh;
The (K)righteous will enter through it.
21 I shall give thanks to You, for You have (L)answered me,
And You have (M)become my salvation.

22 The (N)stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief corner stone.
23 This is from Yahweh;
It is marvelous in our eyes.
24 This is the day which Yahweh has made;
Let us (O)rejoice and be glad in it.

1 Corinthians 15:1-11

The Resurrection of Christ

15 Now (A)I make known to you, brothers, the (B)gospel which I proclaimed as good news to you, which also you received, (C)in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, (D)if you hold fast [a]the word which I proclaimed to you as good news, (E)unless you believed for nothing.

For (F)I delivered to you [b]as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died (G)for our sins (H)according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was (I)raised on the third day (J)according to the Scriptures, and that (K)He appeared to (L)Cephas, then (M)to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some (N)have fallen asleep. After that, He appeared to [c](O)James, then to (P)all the apostles, and last of all, as [d]to one untimely born, (Q)He appeared to me also. For I am (R)the least of the apostles, [e]and not worthy to be called an apostle, because I (S)persecuted the church of God. 10 But by (T)the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I (U)labored even more than all of them, yet (V)not I, but the grace of God with me. 11 Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.

John 20:1-18

The Empty Tomb

20 (A)Now on the first day of the week, (B)Mary Magdalene *came early to the tomb, while it *was still dark, and *saw (C)the stone already taken away from the tomb. So she *ran and *came to Simon Peter and to the other (D)disciple whom Jesus loved, and *said to them, “(E)They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him.” (F)So Peter and the other disciple went forth, and they were going to the tomb. And the two were running together; and the other disciple ran ahead faster than Peter and came to the tomb first; and (G)stooping and looking in, he *saw the (H)linen wrappings lying there; but he did not go in. And so Simon Peter also *came, following him, and entered the tomb; and he *saw the linen wrappings lying there, and (I)the face-cloth which had been on His head, not lying with the (J)linen wrappings, but folded up in a place by itself. So the other disciple who (K)had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. For as yet (L)they did not understand the Scripture, (M)that He must rise again from the dead. 10 So the disciples went away again (N)to where they were staying.

Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene

11 (O)But Mary was standing outside the tomb crying; and so, as she was crying, she (P)stooped to look into the tomb; 12 and she *saw (Q)two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been lying. 13 And they *said to her, “(R)Woman, why are you crying?” She *said to them, “Because (S)they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.” 14 When she had said this, she turned around and *(T)saw Jesus standing there, and (U)did not know that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus *said to her, (V)Woman, why are you crying? Whom are you seeking?” Thinking Him to be the gardener, she *said to Him, “Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you have laid Him, and I will take Him away.” 16 Jesus *said to her, “Mary!” She turned and *said to Him (W)in [a]Hebrew, “(X)Rabboni!” (which means, Teacher). 17 Jesus *said to her, “Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to (Y)My brothers and say to them, ‘I (Z)ascend to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.’” 18 (AA)Mary Magdalene *came, (AB)announcing to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord,” and that He had said these things to her.

Mark 16:1-8

Jesus Is Risen!

16 (A)And when the Sabbath passed, (B)Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, (C)bought spices, so that they might come and anoint Him. And very early on the first day of the week, they *came to the tomb when the sun had risen. And they were saying to one another, “Who will roll away (D)the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?” And looking up, they *saw that the stone had been rolled away, [a]although it was very large. (E)And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, wearing a white robe; and they (F)were amazed. And he *said to them, “(G)Do not be amazed; you are looking for Jesus the (H)Nazarene, who has been crucified. (I)He has risen; He is not here; behold, the place where they laid Him. But go, tell His disciples and Peter, ‘(J)He is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see Him, just as He told you.’” And they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment were gripping them; and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.
