Psalm 118:1-2

His Chesed Endures Forever

Psalm 118

Praise[a] Adonai, for He is good.
For His lovingkindness endures forever.
O let Israel say:
For His lovingkindness endures forever.

Psalm 118:19-29

19 Open to me the gates of righteousness,
that I may enter through them and praise Adonai.
20 This is the gate of Adonai
the righteous will enter through it.[a]
21 I give You thanks, because You have answered me
and have become my salvation.
22 The stone the builders rejected
has become the capstone.[b]
23 It is from Adonai:
it is marvelous in our eyes!
24 This is the day that Adonai has made!
Let us rejoice and be glad in it!
25 Hoshia-na! Please, Adonai, save now!
We beseech You, Adonai, prosper us!
26 Baruch haba b’Shem Adonai
Blessed is He who comes in the Name of Adonai.[c]
We bless you from the House of Adonai.
27 Adonai is God, and He has given us light.
Join the festival with branches, up to the horns of the altar.[d]
28 You are my God, and I praise You.
You are my God—I exalt You!
29 Praise Adonai, for He is good,
for His lovingkindness endures forever.

Jeremiah 33:1-9

The Secret of Redemption

33 Then the word of Adonai came to Jeremiah a second time, while he was still confined in the guard’s courtyard, saying:

Thus says Adonai the Maker,
Adonai who formed it to make it firm
Adonai is His Name.
“Call to Me, and I will answer you—
I will tell you great and hidden things, which you do not know.”[a]

For thus says Adonai, the God of Israel: “Concerning the houses of this city and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are torn down against the siege ramps and against the sword, they are coming to fight with the Chaldeans, but they are about to fill them with the dead bodies of the people whom I will slay in My anger and in My fury. I have hidden My face from this city because of all their wickedness.

“Indeed, I will bring it health and healing, and I will surely heal them. I will reveal to them an abundance of shalom and truth. I will restore Judah from exile and Israel from exile, and will rebuild them, as in former times. I will also cleanse them from all their iniquity[b] in which they have sinned against Me, and I will pardon all their wrongs in which they have sinned against Me and in which they have rebelled against Me.

“Then this city will be to Me for a name of joy, praise and glory before all the nations of the earth, which will hear all the good that I do for them, so they will fear and tremble because of all the good and for all the shalom that I do for it.”

Philippians 2:12-18

Work Out Your Salvation

12 Therefore, my loved ones, just as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now even more in my absence—work out your salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For the One working in you is God—both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

14 Do everything without grumbling or arguing, 15 so that you might be blameless and innocent, children of God in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation.[a] Among them you shine as lights in the world, 16 holding fast to the word of life, so that I may boast in the day of Messiah that I did not run or labor in vain. 17 But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and the service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all. 18 The same way, you also—rejoice and share your joy with me!
