Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Beth
9 How can a young man keep his way pure?
By (A)keeping it according to Your word.
10 With (B)all my heart I have sought You;
Do not let me (C)stray from Your commandments.
11 Your word I have (D)treasured in my heart,
That I may not sin against You.
12 Blessed are You, O Yahweh;
(E)Teach me Your statutes.
13 With my lips I have (F)recounted
All the (G)judgments of Your mouth.
14 I have (H)rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies,
[a]As much as in all riches.
15 I will (I)muse upon Your precepts
And look upon (J)Your ways.
16 I shall [b](K)delight in Your statutes;
I shall (L)not forget Your word.
Israel Is Yahweh’s Witness
8 Bring out the people who are (A)blind, even though they have eyes,
And the deaf, even though they have ears.
9 All the nations have (B)gathered together
So that the peoples may be assembled.
Who among them can (C)declare this
And make us hear the former things?
Let them present (D)their witnesses (E)that they may be justified,
Or let them hear and say, “It is true.”
10 “You are (F)My witnesses,” declares Yahweh,
“And (G)My servant whom I have chosen,
So that you may know and believe Me
And understand that (H)I am He.
(I)Before Me there was no god formed,
And there will be none after Me.
11 I, even I, am Yahweh,
And there is no (J)savior (K)besides Me.
12 It is I who have declared and saved and caused it to be heard,
And there was no (L)strange god among you;
So you are My witnesses,” declares Yahweh,
“And I am God.
13 Even [a](M)from eternity (N)I am He,
And there is (O)none who can deliver out of My hand;
(P)I act and who can reverse it?”
4 And such (A)confidence we have through Christ toward God. 5 Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but (B)our sufficiency is from God, 6 who also made us sufficient as (C)ministers of a (D)new covenant, not of (E)the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but (F)the Spirit gives life.
7 But if the (G)ministry of death, (H)in letters having been engraved on stones, came [a]with glory, (I)so that the sons of Israel could not look intently at the face of Moses because of the glory of his face, which was being brought to an end, 8 how will the ministry of the Spirit not be even more in glory? 9 For if (J)the ministry of condemnation has glory, much more does the (K)ministry of righteousness abound in glory. 10 For indeed what had been glorious, in this case has no glory because of the glory that surpasses it. 11 For if that which was being brought to an end was [b]with glory, much more that which remains is in glory.
