Yahweh Saves in Times of Trouble
17 [a]Ignorant fools, because of their way of transgression,
And (A)because of their iniquities, were afflicted.
18 Their (B)soul abhorred all kinds of food,
And they (C)reached the (D)gates of death.
19 Then they cried out to Yahweh in their trouble;
He saved them out of their distresses.
20 He (E)sent His word and (F)healed them,
And (G)provided them escape from their [b]destructions.
21 (H)Let them give thanks to Yahweh for His lovingkindness,
And for His wondrous deeds to the sons of men!
22 Let them also offer (I)sacrifices of thanksgiving,
And (J)recount His works with joyful singing.
8 Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons with him, saying, 9 “As for Me, behold, (A)I establish My covenant with you and with your seed after you; 10 and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the cattle, and every beast of the earth with you; of all that comes out of the ark, even every beast of the earth. 11 Indeed I establish My covenant with you; and all flesh shall (B)never again be cut off by the water of the flood, (C)and there shall never again be a flood to destroy the earth.” 12 Then God said, “This is (D)the sign of the covenant which I am giving to be between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for [a]all successive generations; 13 I put My (E)bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth. 14 And it will be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow will be seen in the cloud, 15 and (F)I will remember My covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and (G)never again shall the water become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 So the bow shall be in the cloud, and I will look upon it, to remember the (H)everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” 17 And God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.”
3 (A)Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in (B)the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as (C)He chose us in Him before (D)the foundation of the world, that we would be (E)holy and blameless before [a]Him (F)in love, 5 by (G)predestining us to (H)adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, (I)according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 (J)to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He graciously bestowed on us in (K)the Beloved.
