Jonah 3:1-5

Ninevites Turn from Their Evil Ways

Now the word of Yahweh came to Jonah the second time, saying, “Arise, go to (A)Nineveh, the great city, and (B)call out to it this very call which I am going to speak to you.” So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh according to the word of Yahweh. Now Nineveh was [a]an (C)exceedingly great city, a three days’ walk. Then Jonah began to go into the city, one day’s walk; and he (D)called out and said, “Yet forty days and Nineveh will be overthrown.”

And the [b]people of Nineveh believed in God; and they called a (E)fast and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them.

Jonah 3:10

10 Then God saw their works, that they (A)turned from their evil way, so (B)God [a]relented concerning the evil which He had spoken He would [b]bring upon them. And He did not [c]bring it upon them.

Psalm 62:5-12

Surely (A)wait in silence for God, O my soul,
For my hope is from Him.
Surely He is (B)my rock and my salvation,
My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.
On God my (C)salvation and my glory rest;
The rock of my strength, my (D)refuge is in God.
(E)Trust in Him at all times, O people;
(F)Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Surely [a]men of (G)low degree are merely (H)vanity and [b]men of rank are a (I)lie;
In the (J)balances they go up;
They are together lighter than a breath of vanity.
10 (K)Do not trust in oppression
And do not put vain hope in (L)robbery;
If riches increase, (M)do not set your heart upon them.

11 [c]Once God has (N)spoken;
[d]Twice I have heard this:
That (O)strength belongs to God;
12 And that (P)to You, O Lord, belongs lovingkindness,
For You (Q)repay a man according to his work.

1 Corinthians 7:29-31

29 But this I say, brothers, (A)the time has been shortened, so that from now on those who have wives should be as though they had none; 30 and those who cry, as though they did not cry; and those who rejoice, as though they did not rejoice; and those who buy, as though they did not possess; 31 and those who use the world, as though they did not (B)make full use of it. For (C)the form of this world is passing away.

Mark 1:14-20

Jesus Preaches in Galilee

14 (A)Now after John had been delivered up into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, [a](B)preaching the gospel of God, 15 and saying, (C)The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God [b]is at hand; (D)repent and [c]believe in the gospel.”

16 (E)As He was going along by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen. 17 And Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” 18 And immediately they left their nets and followed Him. 19 And going on a little farther, He saw [d]James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets. 20 And immediately He called them; and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, and went away [e]to follow Him.
