Psalm 139:1-6

God’s Omnipresence and Omniscience.

For the music director. A Psalm of David.

139 Lord, You have (A)searched me and known me.
You (B)know [a]when I sit down and [b]when I get up;
You (C)understand my thought from far away.
You [c](D)scrutinize my [d]path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.
[e]Even before there is a word on my tongue,
Behold, Lord, You (E)know it all.
You have (F)encircled me behind and in front,
And (G)placed Your hand upon me.
Such (H)knowledge is (I)too wonderful for me;
It is too high, I cannot comprehend it.

Psalm 139:13-18

13 For You (A)created my innermost parts;
You (B)wove me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will give thanks to You, because [a]I am awesomely and wonderfully made;
(C)Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well.
15 My [b](D)frame was not hidden from You
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully formed in the (E)depths of the earth;
16 Your (F)eyes have seen my formless substance;
And in (G)Your book were written
All the (H)days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.

17 How precious also are Your (I)thoughts for me, God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them, they would (J)outnumber the sand.
When (K)I awake, I am still with You.

1 Samuel 2:21-25

21 [a](A)The Lord indeed visited Hannah, and she conceived and gave birth to three sons and two daughters. And (B)the boy Samuel grew up [b]before the Lord.

Eli Rebukes His Sons

22 Now Eli was very old; and he heard about (C)everything that his sons were doing to all Israel, and that they slept with (D)the women who served at the doorway of the tent of meeting. 23 So he said to them, “Why are you doing such things as these, the evil things that I hear from all these people? 24 No, my sons; for the report is not good (E)which I hear the Lords people circulating. 25 If one person sins against another, (F)God will mediate for him; but (G)if a person sins against the Lord, who can intercede for him?” But they would not listen to the voice of their father, for the (H)Lord desired to put them to death.

Matthew 25:1-13

Parable of Ten Virgins

25 “Then (A)the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their (B)lamps and went out to meet the groom. Five of them were foolish, and five were (C)prudent. For when the foolish took their lamps, they did not take extra oil with them; but the (D)prudent ones took oil in flasks with their lamps. Now while the groom was delaying, they all became drowsy and began to sleep. But at midnight [a]there finally was a shout: ‘Behold, the groom! Come out to meet him.’ Then all those virgins got up and trimmed their lamps. But the foolish virgins said to the prudent ones, ‘Give us some of your oil, because our lamps are going out.’ However, the (E)prudent ones answered, ‘No, there most certainly would not be enough for us and you too; go instead to the merchants and buy some for yourselves.’ 10 But while they were [b]on their way to buy the oil, the groom came, and those who were (F)ready went in with him to (G)the wedding feast; and (H)the door was shut. 11 Yet later, the other virgins also came, saying, ‘(I)Lord, lord, open up for us.’ 12 But he answered, ‘Truly I say to you, I do not know you.’ 13 (J)Be on the alert then, because you do not know the day nor the hour.
