Psalm 139:1-6

139 1 David cleanseth his heart from all hypocrisy, showeth that there is nothing so hid, which God seeth not. 13 Which he confirmeth by the creation of man. 14 After declaring his zeal and fear of God, he professeth to be enemy to all them that contemn God.

To him that excelleth. A Psalm of David.

O Lord, thou hast tried me, and known me.

Thou knowest my [a]sitting and my rising: thou understandest my thought afar off.

Thou [b]compassest my paths, and my lying down, and art accustomed to all my ways.

For there is not a word in my [c]tongue, but lo, thou knowest it wholly, O Lord.

Thou holdest me strait behind and before, and layest thine [d]hand upon me.

Thy knowledge is too wonderful for me: it is so high that I cannot attain unto it.

Psalm 139:13-18

13 For thou hast [a]possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.

14 I will praise thee, for I am [b]fearfully and wondrously made: marvelous are thy works, and my soul knoweth it well.

15 My bones are not hid from thee, though I was made in a secret place, and fashioned [c]beneath in the earth.

16 Thine eyes did see me, when I was without form: [d]for in thy book were all things written, which in continuance were fashioned, when there was none of them before.

17 How [e]dear therefore are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

18 If I should count them, they are more than the sand: when I awake, [f]I am still with thee.

Judges 2:6-15

¶ Now when Joshua had [a]sent the people away, the children of Israel went every man into his inheritance, to possess the land.

And the people had served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the Elders that outlived Joshua, which had seen all the great [b]works of the Lord that he did for Israel.

But Joshua the son of Nun the servant of the Lord died, when he was an hundred and ten years old:

And they buried him in the coasts of his inheritance, in [c]Timnath Heres in mount Ephraim, on the North side of mount Gaash.

10 And so all that generation was gathered unto their fathers, and another generation arose after them, which neither knew the Lord, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.

11 ¶ Then the children of Israel did wickedly in the sight of the Lord, and served [d]Baal,

12 And forsook the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt and followed other gods, even the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed unto them, and provoked the Lord to anger.

13 So they forsook the Lord, and served (A)Baal, and [e]Ashtoreth.

14 And the wrath of the Lord was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers, that spoiled them, and he (B)sold them into the hands of their enemies round about them, so that they could no longer stand before their enemies.

15 [f]Whithersoever they went out, the [g]hand of the Lord was sore against them, as the Lord had said, and as the Lord had sworn unto them: so he punished them sore.

2 Corinthians 10:1-11

10 2 He showeth with what confidence, 4 with what weapons, 6 and with what revenge he is armed against the cavillations of the wicked,  7 and that, when he is present, his deeds have no less power, 11 than his words have force when he is absent.

Now [a]I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness, and [b]gentleness of Christ, which when I am present among you am base, but am bold toward you being absent:

And this I require you, that I need not to be bold when I am present, with that same confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which esteem us as though we walked [c]according to the flesh.

[d]Nevertheless, though we walk in the flesh, yet we do not war after the flesh.

(For the weapons of our warfare are not [e]carnal, but mighty through [f]God, to cast down holds.)

Casting down the imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, [g]and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ,

And having ready the vengeance against all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

[h]Look ye on things after the [i]appearance? If any man trust in himself that he is Christ’s, let him consider this again of [j]himself, that as he is Christ’s, even so are we Christ’s.

For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should have no shame.

This I say, that I may not seem as it were to fear you with letters.

10 For the letters, saith [k]he, are sore and strong, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech is of no value.

11 Let such one think this, that such as we are in word by letters, when we are absent, such will we be also in deed, when we are present.
